MGRV8 Alternative/Same Parts Airflow Meters

The same airflow meter is used on many Discovery’s and Range Rovers of the time so long as the part no is the same. Many new replacements are 6 pin whereas the MGRV8s have a 5 pin plug(well mine has) – either are supposed to be compatible but not really sure why the difference. Think I would want like for like 5 pin if I were looking.

Preferably make sure anti tampering seal is intact if buying used – this is for idle mixture adjustment which is factory set.


Apparently the airflow meter is also the same as on Rover 820 turbo (Mk 1 shape 820) and the six cylinder Jaguar engines.

The regular airflow meter used on many MGRV8s, Discovery’s and Range Rovers of the time.
