Waxoyling the inner windscreen frame

I noticed by chance a small hole just appearing from the side of the door/windscreen seal at the level of the lower windscreen. I prodded a thin screwdriver into it and it obviously opens out into the inside of the windscreen frame. I assume that the holes which are symmetrically placed on each side are part of the original frame or someone in the past drilled them to inject waxoyl or similar?

Spraying into the hole

After reading articles about how susceptible the frame is to rusting it seemed the obvious thing to do is to get some (more) waxoyl into it.

Exposing the hole from under the river seal

I had a tin of waxoyl spray (or similar) which I keep handy in the garage to use on any small exposed areas under the car. The nozzle was ideal to fit through the hole and I gave the whole area a good spray …. especially pointing most of it in the direction of the lower frame under the windscreen. Difficult to tell how effective and how far it spread but am sure any of it will help.

Looks (and smells) very similar to waxoyl and it has quite a powerful spray

I guess anyone who has had one of these frames off will know if spraying through this hole will access the lower frame? …… based on feedback from the MGRV8 World forum it does. Also other owners have made small access holes around the frame to inject waxoyl in the uprights. There is a hole at the top of each upright under the rubber seal that can be used as well.
