New Distributer Cap and Rotor Arm – Lucas

In a final bid to track down the misfire being caused by the ignition circuits I bought a new Lucas distributer cap and rotor. These were still original parts. Compared to the original components these latest ones do not feel as sturdy but they worked OK …….. but the misfire remains! Not a very serious misfire but can be felt on tickover.

Now to concentrate on the fuel system.

Since doing this I have replaced the original rotor arm as the so called lucas replacement is an extremely tight fit.
