MGRV8 Clutch Flexible Hose Replacement

I recently had to replace the clutch slave cylinder – see previous posts – and had a major battle to disconnect the flexible pipe from is support bracket and the down pipe from the clutch master cylinder. This bracket is located in a very vulnerable position to the elements and as a result the 2 parts would not come apart whilst on the car.

I had to cut the connector in two to remove it from the support bracket which released the flexible hose …… but part of the hose was still firmly attached to the feeder down pipe from the clutch master cylinder.

The only way I was going to sort this was with a heat gun which meant removing the down pipe from the master cylinder ….. which in fact turned out to be quite an easy job. I just had to release the engine fuse box from the pedal housing (just a couple of clips) and disconnect the speedo cable from the speed transducer to make space to remove the pipe.

Once on the bench and a lot of heat from the gas torch the parts came apart. Then it’s just a matter of replacing all the parts ready to refit a new flexible hose to the clutch slave cylinder.
