MGRV8 Front Suspension Tidy Up

Although my car has been meticulously serviced over its 49,000 miles it was not cleaned up under the car to the same high standard. So my project this winter is to dismantle the suspension enough to get to and clean up the main posts ….. starting with the front.

Before

Using the workshop manual and info from the V8 Register notes – and some help via the MGRV8 Facebook groups – I got the springs and shockers out which made easy access to to the rest of the suspension parts to clean.

After

A lot of the grime with previous old waxoyl scraped off quite easily exposing good paintwork on the suspension parts. Some surface rust treated with kurust and repainted. Re-assembled and protected with clear jenolite rust protection.

Rear suspension next!
