Whilst having the car on ramps when replacing a leaking sump gasket I thought it a good opportunity to see that if i propped up the front on an axle stand then lower the ramp whether the wheel would remain suspended. It all depends on whether the hydraulic part of the ramp would lower enough to suspend the wheel …… which it did.
I was pleased with the result as it makes the ramps a lot more versatile in providing the wheels off front suspension a lot more easy to work on. I need to get something like a rubber pad to place on top of the stands rather than a piece of wood which could split.
