Whilst I had the centre consol off when sorting an alarm problem it seems a good opportunity to add a little bit more insulation under the unit.
Most of the area was just metal and that a bit of extra sound insulation would do no harm. I had a roll of 10mm insulation so after taking a template with an old newspaper a piece was cut to shape and now lies over the transmission tunnel.
