I recently had to check the power supply to the fuel pump when I noticed the poor state the pipework between the pump and filter etc.

The metal pipes were corroded, the rubber was perished and the pump support bracket badly corroded as well.

I ordered replacement pipework from B&G which arrived in a couple of days. After removing the parts from under the car cleaned and painted the support bracket with kurust then hammerite. The nut supporting the pump bracket is located inside the battery box which means I had to remove the battery to access it.

Whilst looking at several other MGRV8s whilst looking for one to buy the fuel pump on a couple of them was very loud inside the cabin. I can imagine that if the pump has not been supported properly in the clamp which included a layer of soft rubbery material them that may be the cause. Quite an easy fix I would have thought.
