I recently asked a question on the MGRV8 Facebook World Group whether the UK spec cars had only the one throttle return spring. I was assured that there should be two.

Knowing a lot of parts are shared with other Rover models of the same era I eventually found a similar one used on the Land Rover Defender V8. I ordered one and when it arrived could see that it looked and felt the same as the original one I had.

Now fitted I wonder whether it really needs 2 springs as the one seemed to work perfectly well ….. also the extra tension through the accelerator cable I am sure will cause accelerated wear in the cable. Will see how it goes – I may well remove it!!
