I bought the new key fob about a year ago and could not get it to link up to the alarm so put it on one side. Decided I would give it another go and was this time successful.

The reason I got it right this time is that I literally switched the ignition on/off very quickly – more like a pulse. I also left the spare key in the boot so I did not have to remove keys from the ignition.

I reset the original key first but when I t tried to programme the new fob initially nothing happened – second attempt after replacing the batteries success.

So now I have a backup fob and keys just need to get another pair of 1220 button batteries as spares.
