I read a post on Facebook where one of the group members cured a sticky accelerator cable using this device and got a smooth acting accelerator. I tried lubricating the cable before that worked for only a while
It’s a small device with a rubber sleeve that clamps around the cable wire and outer sleeve. It incorporates a hole that the aerosol tube pushes into to inject the lubricant.

After disconnecting the engine end of the cable and putting a towel under the pedal in the cab to collect any excess fluid – then the cable was fitted. The cable with the device and aerosol can was held vertical whilst injecting the lubricant. I was very liberal with the lubricant to make sure it had a good dose.

The “operation” was a success! A big difference and now a nice smooth acting accelerator cable ….. hopefully it will last longer than my previous attempt.

The Facebook contributer used a quality motorcycle PJ1 lubricant ….. I used a tin of ptfe aerosol that I already had – but it worked.
