MG RV8 – Adjusting Idle Mixture on the Airflow Meter.

I noticed that the anti tamper on the mixture screw was missing so I thought I would check the idle mixture as described in a previous post below after reading the info linked from it …… see https://mgrv8.info/2023/04/07/lucas-14cux-fuel-injection-system-installation-and-diagnostic-notes/

The ignition only readings were around 0.3v which is OK but engine running voltage was 1.4v a bit on the low side. I tried adjusting the mixture screw which should increase the voltage reading but that made no difference to the readings!

The mixture screw is supposed to turn about 20 turns along is thread range – mine seems to be limitless!! Also there are a lot of screw driver marks on the plastic mixture screw so someone in the past has had a good fiddle with it.

I suspect the middle is broken and the mixture is running weak which could easily be the cause of the misfire ….. so I now need to source a replacement Airflow Meter ESR1057.
