I tried this on my MGB but only once. There is a lot more flexibility on the MGB or is simply not as strong as the MGRV8. On the MGB when I lifted it on its official lifting point under centre of the car I couldn’t open the door! – when I did eventually open the door I couldn’t get it shut again until I had lowered it!
The MGRV8 was as solid as a rock – doors open and shut no problem ….. mind you the MGB had most of its original sill panels replaced at some time.
