I’ve already done this job once already soon after I got the car and at the time I realised I would be having to do this again. I going this a particularly messy job and even though I use the gunsons bleeding kit – one false mine and there’s brake fluid everywhere!!
This time instead of using the spare wheel for the air supply I used a portable tyre inflator which have me a lot more control over the air supply. I only used a pressure of about 4psi which was quite sufficient. I made an adapter using 2 valve extenders and a short length of pipe.

The bleeding is a pain just like the mgb and as with the mgb I unbolted the slave cylinder (slackening nipping up the bleed nipple first) and let it hang so the nipple is pointing upwards – as air rises. Then slackened the bleed nipple to allow a small flow of brake fluid then with a screwdriver push the piston back as far as it will go into the slave cylinder ….. holding it there whilst tightening the nipple.

I refastened the slave cylinder back in place, tested the clutch and all good!! I found this always worked on the mgb as well.
