Lubricating the Accelerator Cable

The accelerator did not seem to have a very smooth action – slightly jerky when I slowly depressed it. I had a similar and worse problem on my ZT260 so I thought a similar solution would solve it.

I disconnected the cable from the engine end and strapped it up on the bonnet prop and dripped 3in1 oil onto the top of the inner cable for it to flow down into the outer cable. I did this till I saw it drip through inside the car onto a rag placed to catch the oil from going on the carpet.

I reconnected the cable and before removing the rags oiled the accelerator pedal pivot.
