Stiff fuel cap key

The first time I filled the tank I was concerned how stiff it was to turn the key in the cap. It was if i used any more pressure to turn the key that it would break.

After a squirt of WD40 into the lug and turning the key in the lock many times then it seems to have sorted the problem.
